The Certified Labs Listeria Monitoring Program Are you concerned about listeria? Join the many other refrigerated food manufacturers who participate in the "CL Listeria Monitoring Program". This monthly program has proven to be an excellent resource in helping to identify and solve problems as they pertain to Listeria in plant environments. Many of you already analyze products and environmental swabs for listeria. We feel that your ongoing participation in an industry-wide listeria survey would be beneficial. The program includes the following: Identification of swabbing locations that you should be concerned with in your processing facility. All required supplies (such as swabs). Real time reporting of your individual results. A compilation prepared monthly with your results compared to other companies in the industry. This will identify areas of concern throughout the industry. You will be supplied a confidential identification number for this compilation. To qualify you must submit at least 10 swabs per month properly identified for Listeria analysis. The cost is $22.00 per sample. Each company can send as many samples as they wish for analysis. We recommend that these swabs also be analyzed for Total Plate Count and Total Coliform Count (for an additional $17.00). As you can see, the biggest advantage of this program is your ability to compare and examine the relative presence and absence of listeria with all the participating food plants.
